October 1936, as the Battle for Cable Street rages, street-thief, Baby is rescued from certain death by a girl with golden blonde hair. When this 'Goldilocks Girl' is kidnapped by a Blackshirt Toff, Baby vows to rescue her.
The search leads Baby to Nettlefield, and law-abiding Ida Moles, who loses her angelically blonde younger sister to the town orphanage, where blonde kids mysteriously disappear.
The link to both lost girls is Ida's duplicitous Uncle Arthur, the town's undertaker and Baby's Blackshirt Toff. He is a eugenicist set on his own British Lebensborn in order to ingratiate himself to Hitler.
Can Ida and Baby forget their differences and work together with a small gang of unconventional girls to rescue the stolen children and put a stop to The Undertaker's dastardly plans?
